Sevier County Extends Deadline for STRU Inspection Program Applications

Sevier County, Tennessee – March 22, 2024 – The deadline to apply for a Short-Term Rental Unit (STR) Inspection Permit in Sevier County has been extended. Property owners who operate short-term rentals in Sevier County outside of city limits now have until June 30, 2024, to submit their applications.

Previously, the deadline was set for March 31, 2024. This extension provides additional time for property owners to learn more about the program and complete the application process.

“Our goal is to work with property owners to ensure they have ample opportunity to comply with the Short-Term Rental Unit Inspection Program,” said Sevier County Fire Marshal Josh Tucker. “With that in mind, we have decided to extend the deadline to allow for more short-term rental owners to work with us to get their applications submitted.”

The STRU Inspection Program was established to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and visitors in Sevier County. Inspections will focus on fire safety, building code compliance, and general occupancy standards.
