Sevier County Sheriff's Office operational structure consists of the following functions and number of officers:
Total Sheriff's Office employees: 89
Sevier County Sheriff 's Office sworn officers are Tennessee P.O.S.T. certified and are required to attend a Tennessee P.O.S.T. basic recruit school and 40 hours in-service annually. Crime scene unit is manned by University of Tennessee National Forensic Academy trained staff. Methamphetamine lab trained enforcement and investigative staff. 2-K-9 units certified for drugs/apprehension and search. 1-K-9 unit certified for EOD/apprehension and search.

Sevier County Sheriff's Office/Correctional Services Sevier County Jail Sevier County Jail was opened in June 1991 with a maximum rated population of 156. After renovations in 2002, the maximum rated population is 214. The Corrections division includes 37 jail employees which consists of the following structure:
All Corrections officers are Tennessee Corrections Institute certified and receive TCI mandated 40 hours in-service training yearly thru TCI and Sevier County Jail. Total number of Sheriff's Department and Jail employees: 126 Grants Applied for:1. Cops Grant - 12 Officers - $1,998,460.00 over three years. Submitted 4.15.09 2. BJA - FY09 Edward Byrn Memorial Grant - 2 cars with full equipment. $56,626.00 Submitted 4.20.09 3. BJA Edward Byrn Memorial Armature Grant - Non-lethal Force, 12 TAZER $13,766.00 Submitted 5.28.09
